Shaman Guide

The Shaman, another one of the multi-purpose classes in the World of Warcraft. Shaman have the ability to heal a group, cast nature spells from a safe distance, or get close and personal dealing powerful melee damage. A good Shaman leveling guide is important, as all of the different totems, buffs, and spec responsibilities can be confusing.

If you wanted to level elemental shaman, it would take longer to get into a group using the dungeon finder, but questing would go faster. One might argue the best way to level now is using the dungeon finder, but I have found that questing while queued for a dungeon is significantly faster, plus you can level your professions in the process.

Level elemental shaman and you will see just how fun they can be in PvP. My 80 shaman has duel spec, and is enhancement (melee dps) and also elemental (caster dps). Elemental is able to cast quick, fairly strong heals. But more importantly, elemental is able to deal great burst DPS via Lava Burst and Chain Lightning.

Enhancement can be more of a challenge in PvP, but are strong if kept up by a healer. Changes have been made to enhancement to improve enhancements chances on the battlefield, such as Frozen Power (roots a target in place) and the changes to earthbind totem. But overall, I still think the best choice is to level elemental shaman. Or at least start gathering elemental gear before level 70.

Restoration (Resto) is always a great choice if you prefer to heal. You can find groups faster, and you will be thanked often on the battlefield. Chain heal is one of the most powerful abilities in a Resto shamans arsenal. Able to heal 3 allies in a single cast is very convenient in raids and battlegrounds.
