World of Warcraft:
Professions
Level Alchemy / Level
Herbalism
So you’re interested in becoming an Alchemist? Many players are likely
already aware to the obvious benefits of leveling alchemy. Sure you can make potions, elixirs, and flasks…but
did you know that you can also make 3 different high level trinkets, a health & mana potion that
NEVER runs out, and potion that increases one of your highest stats (depending on class) that also NEVER RUNS
OUT. On top of all of those cool perks, if you pick up Herbalism as another profession you can get Lifeblood,
a nice little heal over time ability.
If you’re an experienced WoW player, you already know this info.
You can learn Alchemy from a trainer in any one of the major cities. Just ask a guard and they can pin point it on
your map. And as we have said before, if you’re going to level alchemy, we HIGHLY recommend that you also level
Herbalism. Not only will leveling Herbalism earn you some easy money selling the herbs on the auction house (also
located in major cities except Shattrath and Dalaran) Herbalism will also supply you with the most of the materials
needed for making potions/elixirs/flasks/etc. The rest of the materials needed you should be able to pick up from
vendors, the auction house, or maybe a friendly guild member.
The Ultimate Warcraft
Guide
Level Alchemy high enough, then you’ll need to find a Master
Alchemy trainer in the Outlands.
Horde: Apothecary Antonivich
(Thrallmar, Hellfire Peninsula), Lauranna Thar'well (Cenarion Refuge, Zangarmarsh), Zarevhi (Stormspire,
Netherstorm), or Lorokeem (Shattrath City).
Alliance: Alchemist Gribble (Honor
Hold, Hellfire Peninsula), Lauranna Thar'well (Cenarion Refuge, Zangarmarsh), Zarevhi (Stormspire, Netherstorm), or
Lorokeem (Shattrath City).
And once you level Alchemy even higher, you will need to visit
Linzy Blackbolt at the Magus Commerce Exchange in Dalaran City. Or you can see either of the alchemy trainers
below:
Horde: Wilhelmina Renel at Vengeance
Landing, Howling Fjord.
Alliance: Lanolis Dewdrop at
Valgarde, Howling Fjord.
Recipes for potions and such can be learned from trainers, found
on defeated monsters, or purchased from other players.
Alchemy is a very good way to make gold at end game…or any level
for that matter, but you will certainly make the most money from end game raiders. Everyone wants that little extra
buff to make them a better tank, a more efficient healer, or a DPS class looking for a few hundred more damage per
second. You might want to ask some guildies which elixirs or flasks they use the most, this way you can give the
people what they want, instead of wasting materials on swimming potions. And let us not forget Transmutations!
Turning a few ores or other material into another finished product, which all sell quite well on the Auction House.
Especially the ones that require you to use your 24 hour cooldown to make it.
If you level Alchemy, you will also be able to craft a nice
tanking trinket, a melee dps trinket, or a caster/healer trinket. None of them are epics, but are all still very
good. On top of that, you get a potion (that has an endless supply) that you can use that will increase one of your
stats. If you’re a Warrior, it increases Strength, and Mage it will increase Spell Power, etc.
I chose level herbalism and alchemy on my Warrior, and haven’t
regretted it once. Just watch out for those annoying Druids in flight form, they can swoop down and snag an herb
before you can even look twice at it! Reason being is they don’t have to leave flight form to pick flowers. Well
played Druids, well played.
